About us
P256Q@Gateway Academy is co-located in the Beach Channel Educational Campus and consists of sixteen classes from 6th through the 12th grade.
Our program has the capacity to follow both an alternate and standardized assessment curricula that are aligned to Common Core Learning Standards (CCLS). Our program for the alternate assessment students implement the Treatment and Education of Autistic and Communication related handicapped Children (TEACCH).
We also work collaboratively with our partners in general education to offer inclusive programs in Channel View School for Research High School.
Ratios served include:
6:1+1, 8:1+1, 12:1+1, 12:1+3 and Inclusion.
Our students enjoy opportunities to experience physical education activities and special events; as well as, community work-based experiences and field trips to explore the community.

Join Queens Public Library to celebrate the Far Rockaway Teen Center’s 16 years of exceptional service to the community. Since February 21, 2008, the Teen Center has been a pillar in the community, engaging teens in a wide range of programs, workshops, and events designed with their interests in mind.
With community-led support and extraordinary leadership, this unique space has been able to nurture Far Rockaway’s youth with services ranging from podcasting, photography, and Recording Studio to 3D printing, career readiness, and digital literacy courses. We will celebrate this impact with an evening of games, giveaways, and a showcase of our youth’s art, performances, and other talents. We will also present 16 Candles to 16 community leaders whose contributions have helped the Teen Center and its surrounding area thrive!
4-5pm: Open House
5-7pm: Celebration and Presentation of Awards
Refreshments will be served
We invite you to attend our Open Houses! There will be a guided tour, Q8A and a light breakfast served!
