About us
P256Q@PS253 is a co-located elementary school program consisting of nine self-contained classes from Kindergarten through the 5th grade. Our program implements the Treatment and Education of Autistic and Communication related handicapped Children (TEACCH) methodology while following both an alternate assessment and standardized assessment curricula, that are aligned to Next Generation Standards. We also work collaboratively with PS253Q to offer an integrated preschool program for 3 and 4 year old students with Individualized Education Plans (IEP).
Our students enjoy opportunities to experience physical education activities and special events that are hosted by related service providers as well as field trips to explore the community.
Ratios served include:
6:1:1 Integrated PreK, with 12 general education students, 6:1:1, 8:1:1 and 12:1+3.

Students participated in kindness based activities by picking an action from the learning display to engage in random acts of kindness!!
